by public, I meant those in db who want JNU to be closed etc. I know public doesnt  care about JNU protest (which is how decent people behave).

but congress is not leftist. NDTV also is not. Its about power. they may have some liberal values, make some noises about feminism, gay rights, secularism blah blah.. doesn't mean they are leftist. in fact liberal secular assholes are worse than the fascist BJP because they are convincing to the upper middle class, to crush the poor.

congress did initiate some social programs, but they are the bare minimum that reduced poverty in India, which began increasing since BJP took over, btw. Congress did not make any structural changes that can qualify them as leftist. All their stuff were half hearted attempts to deflect from their corruption.
