ఆర్టీసీకి ఇప్పటికే రూ.5వేల కోట్లకు పైగా అప్పులున్నాయి. తక్షణం చెల్లించాల్సిన అప్పులు, బకాయిలు దాదాపు రూ.2వేల కోట్ల వరకు ఉన్నాయి. ప్రావిడెంట్ ఫండ్ అధికారుల ఆదేశం మేరకు ఉద్యోగులకు సెప్టెంబర్ మాసానికి సంబంధించి మొత్తం జీతం చెల్లించాలంటే రూ.240 కోట్లు కావాలి. సీపీఎస్‌కు రూ.500 కోట్లు ఇవ్వాలి. డీజిల్ బకాయిలు చెల్లించాలి. రెండేళ్లుగా రవాణా పన్ను బకాయి ఉన్నది. 2,600 కాలం చెల్లిన బస్సుల స్థానంలో కొత్త బస్సులు కొనాలి. పీఎఫ్‌ బకాయిల కింద నెలకు దాదాపు రూ.65 నుంచి 70 కోట్ల  వరకు చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. మొత్తంగా ఆర్టీసీ ఇప్పుడున్నట్లు నడవాలంటే నెలకు రూ.640 కోట్లు కావాలి. ఈ భారమంతా ఎవరు భరించాలి. ఆర్టీసీకి ఇప్పుడంత శక్తి లేదు

already cheppaam competition is not the answer to all markets. some things get better with competition, some sectors can never be competitive because it will always be controlled and regulated by the govt.

transport is one such sector. speaking of competition in this field is a joke.

These things are privatized because economy is sagging, because losers in India are not able to make stuff and export them in high enough numbers. Its not because of 'competition'.
