Good one. I am paying 44 something with taxes for the same plan. For India calling, I use Google voice. Never faced an issue with the quality or connectivity

Mobile connection plans in North America are pretty expensive. Don't stand a comparison, even remote to the one's we've in India. In India we don't even need to maintain a balance on the account to have the connection active unlike in North America where you got pay if you want to keep the connection active and number for yourself

Do agree india's mobile tariffs are pretty cheaper comparatively also in India also need to keep recharging with minimum amount for it to be active..
