Not only not washing their hands, but urinating and defecating in the fields. I read about that the last time romaine lettuce was recalled. What's going to happen is that no one will buy this lettuce, anymore, or anything else grown and harvested in CA. It will be their own fault. My heart goes out to the innocent Americans who have fallen victim to this filth.
