check intiki pampamanu.....they will send it and you can do whatever you want with that money.....i did that for my car since it was not a big damage but shop vadu bumper change cheyyali annadu to fix the issue and was charging me $1200...

Don't know about US procedures usually it happens like this in India..

1.Cashless - The Service center/Garage has tie up with the Insurance company and and any claims the owner need not pay any money to garage for the repair/damage depending on the coverage and other terms, the garage will open a claim case & ask surveyor to inspect the vehicle, he comes and checks vehicle and will give estimate to owner if owner is ok claim is processed & Insurance company will pay to garage directly. If owner is not ok he may get the work done from his own pocket.

2.Reimbursement - If the garage/service center doesn't have tie up the garage guy will open a claim case with insurer surveyor will come and check and gives estimate of coverage, if ok its processed. The owner need to pay the amount to garage but the insurance company will process reimbursement amount & will be deposited in owner's account...
