A 19-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Hanamkonda on Thursday morning and the police cracked the case within hours by arresting accused Puli Sai Goud. The deceased was identified as a resident of Deendayal Nagar in the city.

The girl’s father said she went out on Wednesday night to celebrate her birthday and did not return home.

Police said the girl had become familiar with Sai Goud who was studying at a degree college near the vegetable shop being run by her father. They had been chatting and talking over cell phone.

 

City Police Commissioner V Ravinder said that on Tuesday, Sai had asked her to celebrate her birthday with him. The girl had told her parents that she would go to Bhadrakali temple on her birthday. After coming out of home, she did not go to the temple but went to Kazipet town where Sai was waiting for her. He took her in a car to an abandoned place near Station Ghanpur where he molested and murdered her.

 

After that, he asked his friends to help him dispose of the body but they refused. He roamed around in the car with her body and threw it near the Vishnupriya Gardens on Hunter road after it was dark. He tried to make it look like a natural death but the police caught the accused on a tipoff.

The Subedari police registered a case and shifted the body to MGM Hospital for postmortem.
