I only ever had one bad experience in 22. That was a guy approaching a girl next to me, the driver stopped and called the cops immediately and the guy left. Caltrain is pretty safe. I don't travel much in BART.

Maybe if you don't give them money. Again, I never had this experience, Palo Alto is pretty safe and mugging is very rare, never heard of. The closest I have heard is my friends from Berkeley getting mugged.

SJC downtown telidu kani PA downtown lo I walked around in the middle of the night multiple times. Not a problem.

Yes, there are pretty safe places here where you can live peacefully. But its not the case everywhere, similarly in India too. See bad things happen, all we can do is hope it doesn't happen to anyone.

Like I said, never faced this. Asalu Stanford campus lo kuda battery incidents are mostly when the perpetuator knows the victim. Random person edo chesidi very rare.

PA is not a big city, I guess PA downtown mostly Stanford clg bars. I used to walk at 2 am back from my campus almost 4-5 days a week for 2 years. I can do it anyday in that area, but I can't guarantee same everywhere

There are places in India that are safe too. IITM campus is very safe wherever you go, whenever you go, but you don't want to go outside the campus later in the night. Ofcourse hostel wardens oppukoru anuko, but still.
