Besides, the point of science is not to make our lives better, the point of science is to understand the Universe. In the process, we can make our lives better. But the fun part of science is to understand the Universe which is the meaning of life.

I don't know what you're talking about. No person is born without a purpose in this world. If you don't do everything you can to fulfil the purpose of your life, then you're wasting your life. Maybe back in the day, the purpose of living beings is to procreate to sustain life, but now we have more than enough human beings in the world that there is no reason to procreate really.
