George Orwell is that British writer who wrote the popular anti authoritarian book 1984 which people thought critiqued fascism.

and Animal Farm, which people thought critiqued communism.

I'm just stumbling into some contradictory explanations of how the society would work.

in reality, I don't have a clue. I just know that if people who live in the brink of war in Syria can do it, there's no reason that others can't.

The biggest problem with such a society is not that people will kill themselves. i have given you plenty of examples that show people wont kill themselves, and in fact be much more happy than in the current system.

the problem is with the dynamism of such a system. capitalism was invented in 19th century, and it had 150yrs to master its understanding of human nature to create a system that took off after 1980s. until then, it was practised in parallel with monarchy, and feudalism, that depended on slaves to do the work.

today it may seem  as the natural law that governs human behaviour, but its not. especially if you are from areas that have been brutalized by the captalism.. eg. mining areas that took livelihoood of people living there, so they can make cheap smart phones for you, and they get nothing in return for the loss of livelihood , etc.

how to create the kind of dynamism capitalism created for its adherents without destroying nature and uprooting people,  is the problem that is worthy of solving.It cannot be solved under capitalism.
