Former Nissan chairman confirms he left Japan for Lebanon due to 'political persecution'

Ex-Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn issued a statement saying “I have escaped injustice and political persecution." It is unclear how Ghosn left Japan as the terms of his bail remain unchanged, banning him from traveling abroad, according to The Tokyo District Court. Ghosn was arrested over allegations of financial misconduct in 2018.
