He stated that his first year in the post turned out to be a success with the ruling party winning majority seats in all elections and hoped to continue the winning streak in the municipal polls.

Hyderabad: Setting his eyes on winning majority seats in municipal polls, TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao declared that the new year would belong to the TRS and the new decade will belong to Telangana State. While the party achieved 60 lakh memberships and constituted all committees, he aims to strengthen the party from grassroot level and function as a bridge between people and the State government.

In an informal interaction with mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on the first day of new year here, Rama Rao stated that his first year in the post turned out to be a success with the ruling party winning majority seats in all elections and hoped to continue the winning streak in the municipal polls. “The party’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections was not upto expectations, but we won majority seats and later recorded clean sweep by winning all 32 Zilla Parishads,” he said.

The TRS working president opined that TRS was far ahead of other political parties in preparations for municipal polls and there was a huge competition within the party for contesting in the elections. Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao will chair an extensive meeting of all the party functionaries at Telangana Bhavan in a couple of days and direct them on the municipal elections.

With the majority of the party offices nearing completion, TRS is planning to get majority of them inaugurated by Chandrashekhar Rao over the next a few months. After municipal elections, the party leadership is planning to conduct orientation and training programme for the party cadre. Further, the party leadership is also aiming to increase its digital and social media presence, in a bid to strike the chord with younger generations.

Rama Rao reiterated that Congress will remain TRS party’s main opponent in the State and being a grand old party which had survived many ups and downs, it cannot be ignored. He took light of BJP and stated that BJP’s position has remained unchanged in the State since his childhood. He strongly objected to personal remarks made by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy against Hyderabad Police Commission Anjani Kumar for denying permission for anti-CAA protest rally.

“It is very wrong on part of the TPCC president to make derogatory remarks and abuse a senior IPS officer. Remember that the city police gave permissions to such rallies taken by BJP, RSS and AIMIM within a span of a few days as well as ensured that they were peaceful. The police might have rejected the Congress party’s plea due to various reasons,” he stated.

Stating that the new decade will belong to Telangana State under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao, Rama Rao said the young State had set benchmarks for other States to follow and was progressing rapidly despite the economic slowdown across the nation. When asked about TRS party’s participation in the Chief Minister’s call for ‘Each One – Teach One’, he opined that the Chief Minister himself is likely to decide the party’s role soon.

TRS is the inti party, there will be a stronger emotional connect when compared to other parties and until the time there arises another stronger local force I don’t see TRS losing. The common traditions, culture and language  make people more cohesive and think alike rather than on caste or religional lines in telangana

Last decade ki present decade ki big difference is the glory of celebrating Dasara...older prosperous days seems to be back..akariki mumbai,surat la pani chese labor kuda panduga peru mida intiki vastunaru ante, Telangana cause has deepened the emoitional connect with the state, putting region,religion and caste aside for better interests of the state...

Long live Telangana...

few years ago office okka andhra ame edo context lo nannu meru dasara celebrate chestara annadi..daniki okka pedda lecture peekina what duseera means to us ani...only the people who has rural ties understand how big of thing is dussera in Telagana region and esp from human relationships perspective .. esp alai bhalai and blessings from everyone one, there is no boundaries..across castes, across friends, across cousins, across employer-employees, across palollu and neigbours, across haves and have-nots, across females..food and festivities are cherry on top. that is one festival you get to see everyone from new generation kids to old generation folks
