More weight is accumulated near the soft muscles like stomach and butt ......

so do Yoga first to reduce the weight ..... do yoga for 3 months ..... you will see weight reduction from 2nd month ..... this will also strengthen the knee

once you get to your weight then get onto tread mill ............

then you will not have any more knee issues

I been doing this from quiet a while, and starting lo no incline .. slowly applied to get more intensity .. maybe I shuld keep it at 0 for few days

start with cycling or elliptical then start treading low speed first and then keep on increasing the heart and amount of time. if you can also swim to control ur breath
