H1B Issues

1. Freedom to leave employment is prevented. You always needed a sponsor to work
2. If you are a software consultant and your sponsor company is not preferred vendor, then your company gets the money what you supposed to get if you were on green card. In other words, you have one more layer. This will reduce your pay. If you have green card, you can directly work with preferred vendor. So you get higher pay.
3. H1B and if you are born from India/China/Mexico, then you never get your green card due to heavy queue ( some say 50 + years queue). So you should focus on saving money, plan to go back to your country and enjoy rest of life.
4. H1B is temporary worker. So you just plan as temporary worker in USA and live permanently in your home country. (ie to purchase house, land in your home country. plan not to purchase anything in USA)
5. If your children plan to study in US university, you needed to pay international fees. your child may not get admission to MD (Medicine) in some university if you are not green card holder & US citizen. I know Texas state university has that clause.
6. Even though you contribute to Social security but you cannot get the social security
7. Even though you are high skilled labor, US treat you as cheap labor and harass you.
8. Even though you just send resume and US employer hires you, you are treated as someone taking US jobs. You are been harassed for no reason.
9. You will have high school fail white guy sitting as your supervisors or Superiors. You have highly qualified degree with BS/MS/PHD but asked to work under them and listen to their direction. Then you are called as cheap labor. You will no one object how unqualified your superiors are and unfit for the position.
10. You will be always be developer or analyst where your white American with low qualification promoted to Vice president. You will be harassed for your English for no reason.
11. you will have to move to one city to another as software consultant because most of permanent companies does not sponsor H1B.
12. In order to fit in, you will spent your money in Luxury cars and big houses. But you may be kicked out if you loose your status any day. This will cause people to loose their life savings. I know someone who was not given entry back to USA even though he had valid H1B & had house. He lost his life savings & his house.
13. You will loose your connection to your home country and visa status will keep you in USA rather than travelling to see your parents.
14. you will be always afraid and sometimes you are mistreated. You are afraid to travel. Immigration officer sometimes treat you very bad.
15. Suppose you have 21 year old daughter or Son, then your children needed to be on their own visa or needed to go back to your home country. So it separates family.

1. You are paid in dollar. So if you save and wanted to go back to your home country, you will get the better conversion rate. So you may have better life style. If you stay in USA, you will not have the advantage because your expenses are in USD
