Singapore Mandatory National Service

Wondering whether Singapore Govt is violating human rights for making this compulsion to do NS for all male citizens ?
What if some people does not like any form of military training and does not believe in patriotism ?
In a globalized world i feel this concept of nationalism and love for A country is outdated ?
I feel people should choose their living based on economic status than love of mother-land ..
Moreover how much Singapore govt trains their citizens a single Atom bomb thrown at them by say USA will make this NS a laughing stock ?

Even India has NCC/NSS kind of voluntary training programmers targeted to uplift youngsters to have some sense of love for the country ..

But is it really helping ? I know many of my friends who joined NCC during their college years , does not want to return to India and even criticized me when i said i had plans to return to India  ..
