People across Kerala joined a huge human chain organised by the ruling Left Democrat Front (LDF), headed by the Communist Party of India, to protest the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens. According to the LDF, up to seven million people joined the line, which ran 620 kilometres from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram.
