Production already model y was not know news and range was expected 10 -20 miles but 35 miles is big one if these all were know why is stock price driving up now ? These were surprises... everyone anticipated it would be March to April production but Jan hit the spot and he hinted 600 mile range is soon coming in April on battery day

If you follow Tesla closely this isn't a big news. In fact battery upgrades are overdue. Usually they upgrade battery capacity too often but it had been slowed down due to too much energy on setting up Gigia factories and Model 3 production ramp up. I latest software release shows new batteries coming soon.

As soon as they acquired maxwell and hybar it’s evident that they are coming up with battery... with model s and x not with y

with y they enhanced stamping process wiring system Which reduces weight and with that improves range and improves margin  which they start earning soon than expected and the profits they posted are the reason which is driving stock price higher today ah edi nenu chpadalchukana vishyam  not talking about software which was released 3 days back gives clue of new range and plaid mode..
