Gopal Sharma opened fire Thursday at a protest against the amended Citizenship Act that was being held near Jamia Millia Islamia, one of the capital region's best-known varsities. The demonstrators were marching to Rajghat. One student, Shadab Farooq, suffered a hand injury.

Sharma was taken into custody.

@lovemystate you underestimate or don't care about the attractiveness of Hindutva for all sections of Hindus. Even dalits and even those who swear by ambedkar. It has spread to every nook and corner of the hindu society.

almost all of those that attack you here are not brahmins. they probably don't even care about brahmins beyond the hindu identity.

even the distinction you try to make between north and south is pointless in this. including TN and Kerala too. A lot of educated Indians have lost their minds.
