According to the New South Wales Rural Fire Service, dozens of bush and grass fires are still burning in the southeastern Australian state. Forecasts show that rain over the next eight days will allow firefighters to focus on containment. In Western Australia, an "extreme heat wave" with increased fire risks is slated for the end of the week.
