Business process firm Conduent Inc. inaugurated its new office at Millennium Tower in Rushikonda on Wednesday.

The New Jersey-headquartered company, which has 1,500 employees on its rolls in its Visakhapatnam facility, praised the city’s social infrastructure and the availability of a large talent pool, and said that it plans to scale up its workforce to 5,000 in the near future.

Conduent’s Visakhapatnam facility is its sixth in the country, after Gurugram, Noida, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kochi.

Conduent Group Chief Executive, Financial Services and Healthcare Pratap Sarker and CEO-Asia Pacific Lokesh Prasad told The Hindu that with over 1,05,000 sq ft of floor space and four times more seating capacity than its first incubation space, the new office at Millennium Tower would be one of the company’s key business locations in India.

The locations in India specialise in delivering key innovations to its clients in the United States and Europe and other areas in technology and healthcare.

Mr. Sarker said becoming a 1,500-seater company in less than a year was testimony to the strategic importance of the city to their business. “We are very happy with the encouraging response from the State government and local authorities in helping us become a major employer. The clients have also expressed satisfaction over our move to set up a huge facility in Visakhapatnam,” Mr. Sarker said.
