+1. Be careful when you drive in area where you have lot of trucks - Texas, Midwest,  rural areas etc.

Agree - but at the end, it doesn't matter. Even if the teenager driving F-150 is speeding (likely, based on the description of the road by others) , it also doesn't matter - unfortunate, but bitter reality. 

Drive a safe car that you can afford , careful in turns and yielding. 

T-bone is worst kind of accident - even with improvements in side impact protection it won't help when a bigger car hits you at higher speeds. No crumple zone like front and back to shield you.

None of the crash tests are done for 70 mph speed . So, it doesnt matter anyway.

హైదరాబాద్‌: అమెరికాలోని టెక్సాస్‌ రాష్ట్రం ఫ్రిస్కో ప్రాంతంలో జరిగిన ఘోర రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో ముగ్గురు తెలుగువారు మృతి చెందారు. మృతుల్లో భార్యాభర్తలది హైదరాబాద్‌ కాగా, మరొకరిది ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోని గుంటూరు. మృతుల్లో ఒకరైన దివ్య.. తాను పుట్టిన రోజునే, దాదాపు పుట్టిన సమయానికే మృతి చెందడం వారి కుటుంబంలో తీరని విషాదాన్ని నిం పింది. గాంధీనగర్‌లో నివసించే రిటైర్డ్‌ ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంకు మేనేజర్‌ గౌతమ బుద్ధ, శివలీలలకు దీప్తి, దివ్య సంతానం. చిన్న కుమార్తె దివ్యకు.. అమెరికాలో సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌ ఉద్యోగం చేస్తున్న ఘట్‌కేసర్‌ సమీపంలోని సింగపూర్‌ టౌన్‌షిప్‌కు చెందిన గవిని రాజుతో 2007లో వివాహమైంది. అనంతరం భర్తతో పాటే అమెరికా వెళ్లి ఉద్యోగంలో చేరింది. వీరికి కుమార్తె రియా (7) ఉంది. ప్రస్తుతం వీరు టెక్సాస్‌ రాష్ట్రంలోని శానియాంటో నుంచి బదిలీపై డాలస్‌ నగరానికి వచ్చారు. వీరి స్నేహితుడు, గుంటూరు జిల్లాకు చెందిన ప్రేమ్‌నాథ్‌ తన నివాసంలో వీరికి బస కల్పించాడు.

 

 

గవిని రాజు వెల్స్‌ ఫార్గో బ్యాంకులో పని చేస్తుండగా, దివ్య నేషనల్‌ ఇన్సూరెన్స్‌ కంపెనీలో సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌ ఇంజనీర్‌. వీరు డల్లాస్‌ సమీప పట్టణం ఫ్రిస్కోలో నూతనంగా సొంతింటిని నిర్మించుకుంటున్నారు. ఆదివారం కావడంతో కూతురు రియాను డాన్స్‌ క్లాసులో వదిలి వారి నూతన ఇంటి నిర్మాణాన్ని పరిశీలించేందుకు కారులో వెళ్లారు. వీరితో పాటు ప్రేమ్‌నాథ్‌ కూడా వెళ్లారు. తిరిగి వస్తున్న క్రమంలో స్కూల్‌ జోన్‌ కావడంతో జంక్షన్‌ వద్ద తమ వాహనాన్ని స్లో చేశారు. అదే సమయంలో మితిమీరిన వేగంతో దూసుకొచ్చిన మరో కారు బలంగా ఢీకొట్టింది. భారత కాలమానం ప్రకారం ఆదివారం సాయంత్రం 7 గంటల సమయంలో జరిగిన ఈ ప్రమాదంలో వాహనాన్ని డ్రైవ్‌ చేస్తున్న దివ్యతో సహా ముగ్గురూ అక్కడికక్కడే ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు. వీరి కారును ఢీకొట్టిన వాహనాన్ని మైనర్‌ నడుపుతున్నట్లు ఫ్రిస్కో పోలీసులు గుర్తించారు. ప్రమాద విషయం గవిని రాజు స్నేహితుల ద్వారా గాంధీనగర్‌లో నివసించే దివ్య, రాజుల తల్లిదండ్రులకు తెలిసింది.

అమెరికాలోని కొలంబస్‌లో ఉంటున్న దివ్య సోదరి దీప్తి తన భర్తతో కలిసి సంఘటన స్థలానికి చేరుకున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం రియా వారి సంరక్షణలోనే ఉంది. దివ్య పుట్టిన రోజు ఆదివారమేనని, ప్రమాదం జరిగిన సమయం, ఆమె పుట్టిన సమయం దాదాపు ఒకటేనని కుటుంబీకులు విలపిస్తున్నారు. ఆ ముగ్గురి మృతదేహాలు శుక్రవారం నగరానికి చేరుకునే అవకాశం ఉంది. వారి స్నేహితులు, తానా అసోసియేషన్‌ కలిసి మృతదేహాలను హైదరాబాద్‌కు పంపించేందుకు ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తున్నట్లు కుటుంబసభ్యులు తెలిపారు. కాగా, ప్రేమ్‌నాథ్‌ కుటుంబానికి సహాయం చేయడానికి అమెరికాలో ఉంటున్న అతడి ఫ్రెండ్‌ ఫండ్‌ రైజింగ్‌ చేపట్టారు. ఇండియాలో ఉంటున్న కుటుంబం మొత్తం ప్రేమ్‌నాథ్‌పైనే ఆధారపడి ఉందంటూ గో ఫండ్‌ మీ సైట్‌ ద్వారా విరాళాలు స్వీకరిస్తున్న ప్రతిమ మార్తాల పేర్కొన్నారు. 1.5 లక్షల డాలర్లు సమీకరణ లక్ష్యంగా నిర్దేశించగా, 20 గంటల్లోనే 24,418 డాలర్లు సమకూరాయి.
