Whatever it costs in India, in the US it's usually free with insurance. Medical doctors cost more here than in India because medical school is expensive, doctors get paid more and your bills go though insurance companies.

It's kind of hard to understand the US healthcare system. The other day I was picking up a prescription from Pharmacy and just out of curiosity I asked the pharmacist how much is the price if I pay directly instead of going through insurance. To my shock I got to know the direct payment price($26) is less than the co-pay($35) that I will be paying if I go through insurance to buy that. If I hadn't asked, they would have not told me.
