Encourage him. It is very easy to get into college with a good highschool football profile. If he can really enter NFL, he will qualify for a green card under extraordinary ability..

You need to put serious effort if the kid is passionate about the game. I know the game is dangerous but it is what it is....

excellent. this should be the norm for a growing kid. phyiscal activities is more important for overall growth. especially in team sports..they get exposed various traits of life, which a regular teaching cant explain or show

I think you should consider encouraging, it's a huge deal. He will get scholarships for college, one of the biggest expense for kids now a days.
