To be honest, if your prof is like that, you will have good research from your PhD. If your prof is not pushing you, anta output undadu, usually.

maa vodi torture vere type.. work cheyyamani pressure ledu.. in fact, I work more than what he expects. But.. chesina work ni publish cheyyanivvadu. Ala ani patent kuda cheyyadu... One of my projects... picomolar activity with excellent selectivity profile in enzymatic and cellular screening. Finish ayyi 2.5 years aindi. But I cant show it in my CV. Inko project kuda alage stuck ayyindi.

Worst thing is that he has full control on my projects.. although he contributes nothing to it.. like project design, writing manuscript, getting collaborations etc. Of course, stipend and resources matram istadu.

Is he waiting for you to have better results or aim for a higher impact factor journal or he doesn't like you to publish? I know a PI like this from Jackson State.

.. but he is not doing anything about further studies.
