Alimony depends on lots of factors. Just because they got married doesn't entitle one an alimony. It depends on factors like duration of marriage, life style during the marriage, skills of spouse. Most of the time, this issue arises for the couple who has longer marriage and if one spouse made lots of money during the course of marriage. 

"70% of divorces in west are initiated by women" - This has nothing to due with the issue called "alimony". Alimony law goes both ways for men and women. Your "fact" only helps you to demonize women.
