Just to clarify.. i in no way support the murder of Pranay. 

In all the examples you gave, the off-springs of a hardworking person became successful. In this case, Pranay doesn't seem to be in that category. Maruti Rao had a point. But he could have just shun them away.. unfortunately/foolishly he took the extreme step.

I second that since na friends kuda unde ah category lo I can imagine his plan and maruti rao's pain..
