India records highest single-day spike in cases

With just a day to go for the fourth phase of the lock down to end, the number of corona virus cases rose to 1,73,763, even as India recorded the highest single-day spike of 7,964 cases so far. India also reported 265 COVID-19 deaths on Friday, taking the toll to 4,971.

70 new cases reported in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh reported 70 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,944. Number of active cases stand at 792.

India Covid-19 recovery rate increases to 47.40%

Latest figures by the government shows that 11,264 corona virus patients were reported cured over the last 24 hours, as India's recovery rate increased by 4.51 percent to 47.40 percent. Number of active patients declined from 89,987 to 86,422.

856 new positive cases and 6 deaths have been reported in the state today, taking the total positive patients in the state to 21,184, of which 9,021 are active cases. Death toll stands at 160, says Tamil Nadu Health Department.

Karnataka reports 141 new Covid-19 cases, tally rises to 2,922

141 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Karnataka from 5 pm yesterday to 5 pm today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 2,922 including 1874 active cases. Total Covid-19 deaths in the state stand at 49, says State Health Department.

J&K reports 177 new Covid-19 cases, tally reaches 2,341

177 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir; 52 from Jammu division and 125 from Kashmir division. Total number of cases stands at 2341 including 1405 active cases, says Govt of Jammu and Kashmir.

Maharashtra reports 2,940 new cases, 99 deaths

2,940 new corona virus patients were reported in Maharashtra along with 99 deaths on Saturday, taking the case count to 65,168 and toll to 2,198, according to the state health department. 

 

"1,084 patients have been cured today,totally 28,081 patients are cured and discharged from the hospitals. Total Active patients are 34, 881," said state health minister Rajesh Tope.

 

Ahmedabad reports 284 new cases, 24 fatalities

 

The number of corona virus cases in Ahmedabad district rose to 11,881 while the death toll reached 822 with 284 new patients and 24 fatalities on

Saturday, PTI quotes the state health department as saying. Of 27 COVID-19 deaths in Gujarat, 24 were reported in Ahmedabad.

 

On the other hand, out of 621 COVID-19 patients who were discharged from hospitals in the state, 518 were from the district, officials said

Madhya Pradesh reports 246 new cases, total reaches 7,891

246 new positive cases and nine deaths have been reported today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 7,891, of which 4,444 patients have been cured and discharged. The death toll stands at 343, ANI quotes the Madhya Pradesh Health Department as saying.
