Cases in India soar to 324; lockdown in Punjab

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India rose to 324, while the figure stood at 315 on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government announced that it will enforce lockdown till 31 March. It has joined the list of states like Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Bihar, which have announced either a complete or partial lockdown.

Coronavirus: Puducherry clamps Section 144 to ensure social distancing

Already  Section 144 Cr P.C has been promulgated in  Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions of the Union territory.

PUDUCHERRY: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC will be clamped in Puducherry (the enclave in Tamil Nadu) from Monday morning till March 31, restricting the gathering of people to a maximum of four persons at a place.

Already  Section 144 Cr P.C has been promulgated in  Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions of the Union territory.

The order will be relaxed for purchase of groceries and vegetables from 8 am to 9 am and again between 6 pm and 7 pm when people can go to markets, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy told reporters on Saturday.

However, shops selling essential commodities such as food, medicines, and milk will remain open as usual, the CM said, while advising people not to crowd these shops.

Hero MotoCorp halts operations in India, Columbia, Bangladesh

Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India shut down its manufacturing facilities in Narsapura, Karnataka and Vithakpur in Gujarat till 31 March.

Additionally, HeroMotoCorp has halted all operations in India, Columbia, Bangladesh with immediate effect and all manufacturing plants have been put on hold till 31 March.

Another COVID-19 patient dies in Mumbai; India reports five casualties

A 63-year-old coronavirus patient died in Mumbai on Sunday, taking the toll in Maharashtra to two, a health official said. The man was admitted to the HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday.

The Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation in a statement said the patient had chronic history of diabetes, high blood pressure and ischemic heart disease.

He developed acute respiratory distress syndrome leading to his death, the statement said

First death reported in Bihar; 38-year-old man dies in AIIMS, Patna

Bihar reported its first fatality due to the novel coronavirus after a 38-year-old patient succumbed to the virus in Patna, AIIMS, News18 Bihar reportedWith this, India witnessed a break from the age pattern of all the deaths due to COVID-19, which has primarily affected the elderly so far.

The news was confirmed by Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health Department of Bihar.

The deceased has been identified as Saif Ali, who was 38 years old. According to the information, Saif was a resident of Munger and worked in Qatar.

38-yr-old who died in Patna had renal failure, claims report

The 38-year-old COVID-19 patient who succumbed to the virus on Sunday had renal failure, after existing kidney problems, reported India Today. The Munger resident who passed away on Sunday morning in AIIMS, Patna had recently come from Qatar.

His COVID-19 test came back positive on Sunday.

That list was updated at around 9:45 AM stats are from Ministry of Health & Human welfare site, after that two new death cases were reported..
