Fifteen new cases in Kerala

Fifteen more positive cases of corona viruswere detected in Kerala, taking the total to 67, including three discharged, PTI quotes the state health department as saying.

Bengaluru put under lock down as Karnataka Covid-19 cases climb to 26

1. All shops, commercial establishments workshops, godowns dealing with non-essential services will close

2. Labour industries will work at 50% of their strength on a rotation basis

3. All information technology and bio-technology units will ensure work from home except where it is not feasible

4. All air-conditioned bus services of road transport corporation and private operators will be stopped

5. All inter-state and inter-district services will not be operated from the lockdown districts

6. Food, ration shops, milk, vegetables, meat, fish, fruit markets and shops will be open and excluded from restrictions

7. Transport of all goods are excluded

8. Police and fire services are excluded

9. Electricity, water and municipal services are excluded

10. Home delivery of food, pharmaceutical and medical equipment are excluded

11. Take aways from restaurants are excluded

These rules are for the 9 districts under lockdown in Karnataka (Bengaluru, Bengaluru rural, Belagavi, Dharwad, Chikkaballapura, Kodagu, Mysuru, Kalaburagi snd Mangaluru)

Chennai in lock down till march 31

Chennai in Tamil Nadu has been put under a lockdown in view of the rising cases of coronavirus till March 31. Essential services like medical stores, grocery, milk will remain open. Amma canteens will operate during the lockdown. Bars, pubs, gyms, clubs, parks, swimming pools will remain closed till March 31. Sanitisation work will continue. Chennai Metro services have been suspended. Inter-state public and private buses, too, have been suspended.

MP: 1 tests positive in Jabalpur

One person has tested positive for coronavirus in Jabalpur. The total number of coronavirus positive patients in Jabalpur is now five. Across Madhya Pradesh, a total of six positive cases have been reported.

Govt offices in Maharashtra to function with 5% staffing: Uddhav Thackeray

Apprising the people of important decisions taken during the day, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray said that Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in all urban areas of the state. He said that public transport (trains and buses) and private buses will remain closed and government offices will have five percent staffing.

Three more test positive in Kolkata

 
Three more persons tested positive for novel coronavirus in Kolkata taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in West Bengal to seven, health department officials said. The three are parents of a UK-returned youth, the second positive case of the deadly infection in the state, and a maid working at their residence in Ballygunge area. All the three are currently at an isolation ward of the state-run Beliaghata ID hospital, officials said.
 
Eight other members of the youth's family were admitted to the isolation ward of the Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital's second campus in Rajarhat, officials said. The 22-year-old man, who is pursuing higher studies in the United Kingdom, had returned home on 13 March. He was admitted to the Beliaghata ID Hospital on Thursday with COVID-19 symptoms.

Section 144 imposed in Pune

Curfew under section 144 of the CrPC was imposed in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad from 9pm on Sunday to 5am on Monday in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak. With this order, no person can move on foot or by vehicle or stand or roam around any road in the city, and the persons violating it will be punished under section 188 of IPC, Pune police said. (PTI)

Rajasthan CM holds meeting with Army, IAF, other agencies to review coronavirus situation

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held a meeting with senior officials of the Army, Indian Air Force (IAF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and other central agencies at his residence today to review the situation in the state with regard to novel coronavirus. He mentioned that things are presently under control but in case of need, the role of the Army and paramilitary forces will be significant.

Lockdown in Chhattisgarh's urban areas till 31 March

Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel  announced a lockdown in urban areas of the state till March 31 in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak. "To prevent the spread of virus in Chhattisgarh, we have decided to impose curfew till 31 March in all urban areas. During this period, all offices, institutions,
transport services etc will be closed. However, essential services such as medical shops, grocery shops, vegetable outlets, milk shops and petrol pumps will function," he said.
 
Besides, services like electricity supply, water supply, domestic gas supply, municipal sanitation, waste disposal and commercial transport will continue to function as before, he said.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) tweeted: "Kind attention to all the flyers: All scheduled domestic flight operations will continue at the Delhi airport. Passengers are requested to get in touch with the airline concerned for updated flight information."

Sri Lanka imposes curfew

The Sri Lankan government on Friday imposed atwo-and-a half day long curfew across the whole island in a bid to contain the spreading of the coronavirus, reports AP.The number of positive cases has risen to 59.
