హైదరాబాద్:  కోవిడ్-19(కరోనా వైరస్) వ్యాప్తిని అరికట్టడంలో భాగంగా రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం లాక్‌డౌన్‌ను ప్రకటించిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. దీనిలో భాగంగా రవాణా వ్యవస్థను స్తంబింప చేశారు. బస్సులు, మెట్రో, ఆటోలు, క్యాబ్‌లను సైతం రద్దు చేశారు. అత్యవసర విభాగాలకు చెందిన వాహనాలు, ప్రజాసేవ విభాగంలోని సిబ్బందికి మాత్రమే అనుమతి ఇచ్చారు. కానీ ప్రభుత్వ వెసులుబాటును కొందరు నగరవాసులు దుర్వినియోగం చేస్తున్నారు. పలు ప్రాంతాల్లో గుంపులు గుంపులుగా జనాలు తిరుగుతున్నారు. ప్రైవేటు బస్సులు, ఆటోలు యథేచ్ఛగా తిరుగుతున్నాయి. ఒక్కో వాహనంపై ముగ్గురు, నలుగురు తిరుగుతున్నారు. ఇవాళ ఉదయం జూబ్లిహిల్స్ చెక్‌పోస్ట్ లాంటి కొన్ని జంక్షన్ల దగ్గర ట్రాఫిక్ పోలీసులే లేరు. కరోనా వైరస్‌కు అడ్డుకట్ట వేయడంలో పూర్తి స్థాయి నియంత్రణ అవసరమని, స్వీయ నియంత్రణలో జనం ఉండాలని ప్రధానమంత్రి, ముఖ్యమంత్రులు చెప్తున్నా.. జనం మాత్రం ఏమీ పట్టనట్టే రోడ్ల మీదే తిరుగుతున్నారు. కనిపించని శత్రువుతో పోరాటానికి బెంబేలెత్తి దేశాధినేతలే చేతులెత్తేస్తుంటే... జనం ఇలా చేయడం ఎంత వరకు సబబని వైద్య నిపుణులు ప్రశ్నిస్తున్నారు. జాగ్రత్తలు పాటించకపోతే నష్టపోయేది జనమేనని.. వారు ఒక్కరే కాదు మొత్తం సమాజాన్ని ప్రమాదంలోకి నెట్టేస్తున్నారని డాక్టర్లు అంటున్నారు.

China reports 39 new cases, all from overseas

China’s National Health Commission on Monday reported 39 new cases of COVID-19, all of which it says are “imported” infections in recent arrivals from overseas.

For more than a week, the majority of mainland China’s reported cases have been found in people coming from other countries, while community transmission inside the country has dwindled, according to the National Health Commission.

Centre asks states to strictly enforce lockdown in COVID-hit areas

The Centre has issued an order on Monday asking state governments to strictly enforce lockdown in coronavirus-affected areas as it was announced on Sunday.  The government has also warned of legal actiona gainst violators. 

In an attempt to contain the rapidly spreading coronavirus outbreak in India, several states announced they will be imposing lockdown till 31 March. In some of these states the lockdown is state-wide while in others only the districts that have reported novel coronavirus cases have been put under lockdown. So far, 80 districts across the country have reported Covid-19 cases.

68-yr-old COVID-19 patient passes away in Mumbai after recovery 

A 68-year-old man from Philippines, who tested positive for coronavirus infection and later recovered, has died at a hospital in Mumbai, the city civic body said on Monday.

This is the third death reported from Mumbai in connection with COVID-19.

The man had initially tested positive for coronavirus and was under treatment at the civic-run Kasturba Hospital. He was later shifted to a private hospital after his test report came out negative, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said in a statement.

He died at the private hospital late Sunday night, it said.

390 test positive in India, including 41 foreigners: Health Ministry

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 390 on Monday after 30 fresh cases were reported, the Union Health Ministry said. The figure includes 41 foreigners and seven deaths have been reported so far, it said.

Gujarat, Bihar and Maharahstra reported a death each on Sunday, while four fatalities were reported earlier from Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra and Punjab, the ministry said.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases across the country now stands at 359, while 24 people have been cured /discharged/migrated, it added.

11 new COVID-19 cases in Gujarat; state's tally at 29

Eleven new coronavirus cases have been reported in Gujarat, taking the total number of those infected by the deadly virus in the state to 29, the state health department said on Monday.

Among the new patients, five are males and six females. Of these, five cases are of localtransmission and six patients have history of recent visits to countries like Saudi Arabia, France, Sri Lankaand the UK, it said.

With this, Ahmedabad now has total 13 cases, Vadodara-six, Surat and Gandhinagar-four each, and Kutch and Rajkot-one each, the health department said.
So far, one coronavirus patient has died in the state.

Confirmed cases in Australia at 1,609: PM Scott Morrison

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed that there are now 1,609 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the country. Seven people have died and 91 have recovered from the infection, added the Australian PM.

Confirmed cases in Tamil Nadu rise to 9

The number of confirmed novel corona virus cases in Tamil Nadu has now risen to 9 with a 64-year-old female testing positive for the infection in Chennai. Under isolation at Stanley Medical College, the woman has a travel history of California. In addition, another male who returned from Dubai has been kept in isolation at Tirunelveli Medical College after he tested positive. Both of these patients are stable.

Total number of confirmed novel corona virus cases in India rise to 419, including 8 deaths: Health Ministry

This number also includes 30 patients who tested positive but were discharged after undergoing treatment.
