Kendriya Vidyalayas offer school buildings for setting up isolation facilities for suspected coronavirus patients

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has offered its school buildings for setting up temporary isolation facility for suspected coronavirus cases, KVS officials said on Friday.

"Keeping in view the alarming situation created by COVID-19 in the country, it has been decided that on a formal request from any defence authority or district administration, the schools shall allow use of classrooms of KV school buildings for temporary housing of suspected COVID-19 cases," a KVS official said. Punjab Police distributes nearly 1.9 lakh food packets across districts

The Punjab Police on Friday scaled up its curfew relief operations across the state through the distribution of nearly 1.9 lakh food packets and set up medical camps in various districts, while, facilitating the movement of about 3,000 trucks and lorries carrying essentials into the state across various border points in the past 24 hours.

Karnataka reports 9 new cases in last 22 hours, state's total now 64

Karnataka has reported Nine new cases of Covid-19 from 5 pm on March 26 to 2 pm on March 27, taking state's total infections to 64. The number includes three deaths and five of those who have been cured and discharged.


Fifty six COVID-19 positive patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and are stable.

Mumbai has reported nine positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking city's total number of infections to 86, including five deaths.

39 new cases in Kerala on Friday, state's total at 164

Kerala reported 39 new Covid-19 cases till Friday evening taking the state's total to 164. Out of the 39, 34 were reported in Kasaragod district, Two in Kannur and one each in Thrissur and Kozhikode, and Kollam.

10-month-old tests positive for Covid-19 in Karnataka's Mangalore

A 10-month-old baby from a village in Dakshina Kannada district has tested positive for Covid-19. The baby is now in stable condition, health officials said.

A 10-month-old baby from a village in Dakshina Kannada district has tested positive for Covid-19, health officials said.

The baby was admitted to a private hospital at Derlakatte here on March 23 with high fever and acute respiratory illness.

The throat swab was sent to the lab for testing the next day and it tested positive, a release from district health officer Ramachandra Bayari said on Friday. The baby is now in stable condition.

The release further said Sajipanadu village in Bantwal taluk has been quarantined as a precautionary measure and no one is allowed to enter or go out of the village.

The process of tracing the source of contract was on, the release said

The toddler's mother and grandmother have been quarantined in the hospital and other family members have been asked to remain in home-quarantine.
