The Union home ministry suspended with immediate effect Additional Chief Secretary of the Transport Department, and Principal Secretary, Finance and Divisional Commissioner (GNCTD), while also issuing a showcase notice to Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Land Buildings Departments, GNCTD and the Sub divisional magistrate of Seelampur SDM Seelampur. "It has been brought to the notice of the competent authority that the officers, who were responsible to ensure strict compliance to the instructions issued by Chairperson, National Executive Committee, formed under Disaster Managment Act 2005 regarding containment of spread of COVID-19, have prima facie failed to do so," the ministry said. The decision was taken by the High Power Coordination Committee for the prevention and control of novel Coronavirus in Kathmandu on Sunday. The government has also decided to allow Nepalis stuck at border points on their way back home on the basis of their identity cards. She was 54. She had been on medical leave for an unrelated matter since late February, the network said in a release. Mercader "courageously fought cancer and related illnesses for 20 years, enduring numerous treatments and surgeries," CBS said, adding, "To her colleagues and family, she was an inspiration and a symbol of hope each time she returned to work after the latest medical setback threatened to end her life." West Bengal reported its first case of coronovirus death in Kolkata on 23 March. A 57-year-old resident of Dum Dum was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on 16 March. Speaking to reporters at Pragati Bhavan after a video-conference with district officials, KCR said all 25,937 people who had been quarantined and were under surveillance by the state medical and health department authorities would be completing their 14-day quarantine period by 7 April. “Starting with 1,899 people on Monday, these people would be declared safe in a phased manner every day and by 7 April, all of them would be cleared of Covid-19.
