Kool_SRG Posted March 30, 2020 Author Report Share Posted March 30, 2020 3.34 lakh Personal Protective Equipment coveralls currently available: Health Ministry At present 3.34 lakh Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) coveralls are available with hospitals across the nation, the Health Ministry said on Monday with another 3 lakh being received as donation from abroad by 4 April. "Eleven domestic producers of PPE coveralls have qualified so far and orders for 21 lakh have been placed on them," said the health ministry. The ministry also informed that 10,000 PPE coveralls received from Red Cross will be distributed Monday. The patient, a resident of Ladakh, was an evacuee from Iran who landed in Jodhpur on Wednesday. He is currently admitted to MDH Hospital Jodhpur. "Hospitals in India have 11.95 lakh N-95 masks in stock. Additional 5 lakhs were distributed during last two days and 1.40 lakhs will be distributed on Monday," said Health Ministry. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said they received a certification from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to start the virology laboratory at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). "Anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine has been approved by the national task force of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as a prophylaxis – a treatment to prevent a disease – for people at “high risk” of contracting COVID-19," the report said.
