Julie Salter's story of suffering a decade of abuse at the hands of Sivananda yoga's founder caused activists to rise up against the spiritual institution that failed them. Further testimony against #Sivananda executive Thamatam Reddy, known within the organization as "Prahlad", and former executive Maurizio Finocchi, known as "Swami Mahadevananda". It quotes “Nadine" describing Reddy abusing her from the ages of 12 to 17.

This history of corruption within the Sivananda Yoga community extends even further than Reddy. To date, 3 of the global yoga schools inspired by Swami Sivananda’s 1930s mission are now known or alleged to have been headed up by sexual predators.
