#Nirbhaya: Rapists approach International Court

In what could be a sensational news, the convicts of Nirbhaya rape have approached International Court of Justice (ICJ) seeking a stay on the death sentence. This move by the convicts was not expected and this will give them additional time from facing the death penalty issued by the Delhi Court.

Akshay Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta and Vinay Sharma have filed a petition in ICJ and urged the court to pronounce a stay. This petition may enable the three convicts from not getting executed as per the schedule. All the four convicts of Nirbhaya rape are scheduled to be hanged on March 20th at 5:30 AM. As the convicts used all the remedies, many thought this is the last and final death penalty and they would certainly be hanged.

But the twist came four days before. We are yet to know whether ICJ will consider Nirbhaya convicts petition or reject it. If the ICJ considers their petition, then we can come to a conclusion that the convicts will never face the death penalty and the case will prolong further.
