The Stanford Blood Center is critically low on blood and is looking for donors:

Looking for Ways to Help Your Community?

Now more than ever, patients in our community are relying on the generosity of healthy, eligible blood donors. At Stanford Blood Center (SBC), we need to collect approximately 200 units (pints) of blood per day to support all the children and adults in our community who depend on life-saving blood products for treatment. If you are able, please consider donating to help us continue to meet the needs of local patients!

WHO WE ARE

SBC is a nonprofit community blood center with locations in Campbell, Menlo Park and Mountain View. We also host over 500 blood drives each year. SBC is the main supplier of blood to Stanford Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, both of which are Level 1 trauma centers. Our vision is to connect communities to provide hope for healing.

WHO YOU CAN HELP

Based on your blood type and the type of donation you give, you could be helping a wide variety of patients. Individuals who frequently require transfusions of whole blood or platelets include those suffering from traumatic injuries, chemo patients burn victims, preemie babies, and patients undergoing transplant surgeries. With just one donation, you could save up to three lives!

HOW TO DONATE

Since providing blood to patients is considered an "essential activity," Stanford Blood Center and our donors are exempted from the Bay Area shelter-in-place order at this time and we are still open for appointments and walk-ins. Make an appointment online at sbcdonor.org, or call us today at 888-723-7831! Donation time varies by product given, but traditional whole blood takes 45 minutes to an hour, with the actual donation taking only five to 10 minutes. We have flexible hours at our center locations as well as many community mobile drives to accommodate your schedule.
