this is a big factor.. but as you said extreme case. 2004 General elections atle ayyindi..  But this BJP is really lucky in two aspects (1) very weak opposition (2) crude oil prices are down.

Weak opposition is not good for the country. Opposition strong unte ruling party performance better untundi.
