Chandrababu's Opponent in Kuppam Dies

YSRCP leader and party's MLA candidate in Kuppam in 2019 election, K Chandramouli, has breathed his last today in Hyderabad. Chandramouli was 66-year-old and survived by wife. He was suffering from cancer for the last one year and he died at his residence in Kukatpally.

Politically he had unsuccessfully contested against Chandrababu Naidu in Kuppam in 2014 and 2019 general elections from YCP. Chandramouli belonged to Vanne Kshatriya community which has dominant population in Kuppam and this is one of the main reasons for picking him as candidate opposite Naidu in 2014 and 2019 by YCP. Chandramouli's demise is indeed left a void in YCP in Kuppam constituency. After losing to Naidu, Jagan had thought of offering him a nominated post, but he dropped plans after learning about his ill health. Even during 2019 poll campaign, Chandramouli's son took care of it due to his ill health.

Chandramouli was a former IAS officer and a native of Chittoor district. He had served as Kadapa collector. He had good relation with former CM and late YSR when he had worked as Kadapa collector. However, Chandramouli got retired in 2013. He had studied MA in 1975 from SV University, Tirupati and did PhD in 2013 from SK University, Anantapur. AP CM YS Jagan, Deputy CM Narayana Swamy and Minister Peddireddy have conveyed deep condolences to Chandramouli's family.
