Throughout the series, they struggle for survival.. Anduke anta mandini champadam.. he tries to save jesse every time.. once you are in the game, there is no way out (better call Saul lo dialogue)... 

Walter ki life lo failure ani oka feeling untundi.. he thinks he would have achieved a lot of he did not sell his stake in the company.. Initially he wants money for his medical treatment.. next, for his family.. finally, he realizes that he is loving what he is doing and earning a butt load of money.. and he is in control of it..
