Chloroquine has been around for long.. What was this FDA doing all this while?

FDA ki chala build up istaru... after the 1962 pthalidomide tragedy, they have delayed the approval of almost every drug by 1-2 years compared to EU. These resulted in loss of so many lives..

Researchers cut chloroquine study short over safety concerns, citing a ‘primary outcome’ of death

Citing a “primary outcome” of death, researchers cut short a study testing anti-malaria drug chloroquine as a potential treatment for Covid-19 after some patients developed irregular heart rates and nearly two dozen of them died after taking doses of the drug daily.

FDA approved the use of chloroquine as a remedy for covid-19 under taatha's pressure. The use of it for other intended applications was already appoved. It does not matter how many days has the drug been in existence, it matters on how effective it is for a particular treatment. All of this needs data and time. Cant make up this numbers out of thin air.

Do you want to say FDA should have given their approval for covid-19 treatment much sooner?
