A closer look at that fatal day 5 april 1993...
Some exclusive details of the investigation were shared by a journalist in crime tak about her murder mystery. This flat was given to Divya by Sajid Nadiadwala. She used to live there as tenant. On 5 april in the morning Divya was shooting in Hyderabad for her movies. She came back by midday in Mumbai. She had a bandage due to small injuries on her feet fingers. She spent the day with her family. She had seen a flat in Mumbai which she wanted to buy. She purchased the flat the same day. She was very happy. Her brother Kunal came & visited her. On 6 april she had to go out to another city for a shoot of her movie. But due to her foot injury & happiness of the newly purchased flat, she postponed the shooting of 6 april. The producer agreed for 7 april. Then on 5 april Divya stayed at home & went to purchase her new home. Then Neeta Lulla called Divya for discussing a dress design for Divya's next shoot in Mauritius for the movie Andolan. Divya called her over at her home. Divya's brother Kunal dropped Divya at her home. Around 9 PM in the evening Neeta Lulla & her husband arrived. They sat down in the drawing room with Divya. While discussing the dress & business, they also had drink. Vodka & Black Label to be exact. Divya was drinking Rum. Divya's maid was in the kitchen preparing snacks & food for them. Around 11 pm Divya went to the kitchen.
 Divya had a kitchen window without a protection iron grill. The window ledge was about 11 inch broad. Divya went & sat there. Her face was facing the kitchen & her back was for the window outside. She tried to sit there, but she lost balance & fell for behind. She fell on the parking spot of the Tulsi Apartments. Unfortunately, there was no car parked there that day. Divya fell straight on the concrete ground. She had injuries on her back & head. Her maid screamed loud. This duration timing of leaving Neeta Lulla & her husband, going to the kitchen, trying to sit on the edge of the window & falling down was about 3 minutes. Neeta Lulla & her husband were watching TV. As her maid screamed, Neeta Lulla & her husband rushed at the spot Divya fell on. Also the neighbours & guard came to the spot. They rushed her to the nearest hospital Cooper Hospital. Divya was badly injuried, BUT WAS STILL BREATHING. SHE WAS STILL ALIVE IN THE CAR. Upon reaching the hospital the doctor declared her dead.... Versova police station investigated the case. Inspector J. D. Yadav did the investigation & questioned all. They investigated on murder, suicide & accidental death. They investigated from all possible angles.
