I don't think anyone is getting stranded Indians from Abroad for free..Usually evacuation situation aithe itla phhukat la patkostaru like an emergency or war like situation etc....everyone will be asked to pay the basic charges.

This is more like a pukar being reported widely...no conformation on this one.

Uddhav Thackeray asks Centre not to charge train fare from migrant workers

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has requested the Centre not to charge any amount from migrant labourers for travelling by train to their native places during the coronavirus-enforced lockdown.

Nearly five lakh migrant labourers have been given food and shelter for 40 days in various state facilities, and now they have expressed the desire to go back home in view of the current situation, Thackeray said in a communication to the Centre late Sunday night.

"These people have no source of income for the last some weeks. Hence, on humanitarian ground, the Centre should not charge them for travelling," the chief minister said.

They have been charged, even karnataka lo 2-3 price lo tickets sale chesaaru for buses after critcism they are rolled it back...
