During a televised interview, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there was "enormous evidence" that the new coronavirus originated from a Wuhan laboratory but did not provide any proof. Scientists, health officials, and the US intelligence community have previously stated that COVID-19 was not "man-made" or "genetically modified” but "natural in origin."
