A security guard at a Family Dollar store in Flint, Michigan, was shot and killed after telling a customer to wear a state-mandated face mask, police said.

Calvin Munerlyn, 43, died at a local hospital after he was shot in the head Friday, said Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser. 

The shooter and a second suspect remain at large, Kaiser told CNN on Monday.

Witnesses at the store told police that Munerlyn got into a verbal altercation with a woman because she was not wearing a mask, said Genesee County prosecutor David Leyton. Surveillance video confirms the incident, Leyton said. 

Under an executive order from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, all retail employees and customers have to wear a mask. 

Footage also shows that immediately after the altercation, the woman left in an SUV.
But about 20 minutes later, the SUV returned. 

Two men entered the store and one of them yelled at Munerlyn about disrespecting his wife, Leyton said. The other man then shot the security guard. 

"This is senseless. Over a mask. Over a mask?" Munerlyn's cousin, Tina James, told CNN affiliate WJRT. "This is not the way to do things right now. We need to come together." 

Family Dollar did not respond to a request for comment.

First, It is illiterate and foolish to attack or be rude to any employees. Just be NICE and RESPECTFUL to all store employees (even if it is a cornerstone) as they are just doing their jobs - working for minimum wages. If you have an issue, take it up with the company or a supervisor. What do you get from shooting a security guard? A security guard really?? If you are losing your temper on a store clerk or a security guard, it shows YOU are illiterate, rude, cultureless and not in control !

Secondly, wear a fcuking mask everybody - there is a reason why the state mandated it. You don’t know any more sh*t than the state law makers do. Don’t take the law into your hands you dumb fcuks because your dumbass will regret it behind the bars. If you’ve got the balls, go shoot the lawmakers for it - not a security guard dumbass.

Thirdly, coronavirus can fcuk up your lung functioning permanently if you get infected with it - even after you get cured of it!

Went shopping yesterday after 3 weeks and noticed 100% people - including store clerks - are wearing masks. Stores will refuse entry if you don’t wear masks as per CDC and also expect you to maintain 6 feet distance, 1 member per family, etc. Aisles are marked one way for foot traffic. 3 weeks ago, I saw hardly 20% customers and none of the store clerks wearing masks. Also, stores stopped doing any returns/exchanges (extended time) until the situation resolves. Stores like BestBuy, Bed Bath & Beyond are closed.

Native Americans are mostly decent. Just these lazy, arrogant immigrants - kallus, Hispanics, chinkoos, Irish, Mexicans, Bangladeshis, Pakis, some Indians (north/south), etc - are the drama kings and drama queens. The laziest are Bangladesis and Mexicans. Why do some people consider themselves as exceptions and the law does not apply to them? These illiterate losers make US look and sound ugly!

EVIL assholes are there in every country. Muslims beating up quarantine workers with stones when they were trying to check their health (for free), Sikhs chopping off a cop's arm on the street... - just for doing their jobs!

That cop is a human being too - someone's son, someone's brother, someone's husband and someone's dad! If your brother or son is woking as a cop and someone chops off his arm on the street for doing their job, how would you feel?? What do they get by attacking wrong people - who are just trying to do their job and for what they are paid for? What else are these victims supposed to do if they are not allowed to do their jobs? Go and attack the law makers for it instead.
