50% virus strains in India have ‘Spike mutation’ that’s scaring the world

Scientists led by the US government’s Los Alamos National Laboratory, including Dr Tanmoy Bhattacharya an alumnus of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, have warned that a mutation called D614G in the Spike protein region of the SARS-CoV-2 virus — which causes

Covid-19

 — “is of urgent concern,” as it makes the virus more contagious.

And, in this context, an analysis of 82 strains of the virus in India by India-born Prof SS Vasan and his colleagues from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia, has shown that nearly 50% of them have the new mutation, while globally, nearly two-thirds of all strains have displayed this mutation.

Based on what we know at this point, we do not believe that this pose serious concerns about vaccine development similar to seasonal influenza, where we need to tweak the vaccine each year for Northern and Southern Hemispheres. However, as many vaccines for COVID-19 target the spike region we will keep a close watch on this and other mutations as lockdowns are gradually lifted,” Prof Vasan, who heads the Dangerous Pathogens Team at CSIRO, was quoted as saying.

Mundhu mee US lo 1.2 million cases dhi edhokati eduvu ra trump thatha ani world telling.

US has already seen/seeing the spike and almost flattened the curve dude ... India has not seen the spike yet ... don’t underestimate the gravity of the upcoming events by comparing with US.
with the monsoon season coming up next month which brings Dengue Malaria and other stuff, it’s going to be  VERY dangerous without containing it before ...

Ofcourse it has nothing to do with the Vaccine bro... it’s about how many lives will be affected before the virus is full fledgedly available ...

that’s the concern ... vaccine gurinchi concern is no more ...

particulalry India lo monsoon season lo chala rakala virus/bacteria’s spike aythay ... those with covid combination could be gravely dangerous for people ...
