There is no such restrictions or mandate to show gold reserves, Govt can print any amount of money they want.

But they won't do it, coz if the currency is printed earlier than the growth of real output it reduces the value of currency and this will also cause inflation. Govt will print money when they cannot finance their borrowing by selling bonds. If there arises hyperinflation then its like damaging to economy. See Zimbabwe and Indonesia case, do they have that much gold reserves to print millions denominations. . . . . a bread loaf costs millions in their currency now

Upto certain extent successful . But black money teesuku ravadam ,  business which ran on cash transactions etc people Baga struggle ayaru .

US moved out of this policy during kennedy time...

i directly impacted with demonitization, i was in india during that time...i saw the struggle...

US moved out of this policy during kennedy time...

we have only 4.5% gold reserve. The Indian rupee is backed mainly by Foreign Currency ( 95.5%) and some Gold ( 4.5%). RBI or the Govt of India does not promise to back the INR with Gold. No country in the world backs their currency.. 

Gold standard may be. This will cause inflation and Dollar rate peruguthundi anukuntunna
