Nisarga is expected to intensify into a "severe cyclonic storm" and make landfall near Alibag on June 3 with winds of 100kmph (62.1mph) to 120kmph (74.5mph). Officials from the India Meteorological Department have warned that it is very likely to inundate low lying areas in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
