The ice cream empire released a statement as protests over the death of George Floyd rise up around the US. The company said Floyd's death was "the result of inhumane police brutality" and a "predictable consequence of a racist and prejudiced system." The statement seemed to surprise some people, who were pleased to see a brand take a strong stance in the Black Lives Matter movement.
