In a note to the New York Times Staff, publisher A. G. Sulzberger announced James Bennet has resigned as the newspaper's editorial page editor. The exit comes amid Bennet's decision to publish an op-ed by Republican Senator Tom Cotton who called for military force against protesters in American cities.
