VIJAYAWADA: BJP State President Kanna Lakshminarayana addressed a letter to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to immediately implement the 10 percent reservation to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in Andhra Pradesh. He observed that the youth in the State were ‘being deprived’ as the government had not rolled out the quota.

In the letter written on Friday, Kanna said, “The historical decision of the Central government to provide 10 percent reservation to economically weaker upper caste sections in admissions to higher educational institutions and employment has gone astray as it is not being implemented. As a result, students belonging to these sections are losing admissions and employment. We request you to immediately implement the EWS quota which will benefit lakhs of people.”

Later in the day, a delegation from the State BJP unit, led by Kanna, formally met the new Governor and veteran BJP leader, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada. Later in the day, a delegation led by Kanna, formally met the new Governor.

VIJAYAWADA:   Members of the AP Nirudhyoga JAC staged protest at the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) office on Monday, demanding fresh notifications and reservation system.The members submitted a memorandum to the APPSC secretary PSR Anjaneyulu with almost 20 demands. The members demanded notification for vacant posts in the Library department be released along with the Group-4 posts. 

They also demanded the implementation of a reservation system and urged the officials to allow the reserved candidates to apply for the vacant posts in open category. Demand to grant marks for around 12 questions, which were identified to have translation errors in Telugu in the recent Group-1 examination was also placed.

AP Nirudhyoga JAC president S Hemanth Kumar said: “For the past five years, the APPSC did not release many notifications, especially in Group-3 and Group-4 posts. The officials have to release the notifications at the earliest possible and fill the vacant posts. Also, they should implement EWS reservation. We are also asking for an increase in age relaxation for the General category candidates, as many remained unemployed due to inconsistent notifications.”

He promised reservation to kapus but supreme court gave an order that reservation cannot be increased beyond 50%. And existing 50% lo kalpute migita BCs will complain that they have to share their pie. Every political party ki OCs as a vote bank baga lokuva. If supreme Court didn't give that order, OCs ki pedda bokka padedi
