It's a benefit buddy, It doesn't come under public charge, also to claim u need to come under certain criteria.

Have a FT job, become unemployed without your own mistake and have unconditional EAD, like H4-EAD.

state pays 450$ on top of it federal will pay 600$ per week

That’s what it seems so...

My friend’s spouse lost  job due to Covid and presently filed for unemployment and they have been getting benefits since April..
